OMG how have I not seen this before, a gadget to get your dog to pose for the perfect selfie.
How difficult is it to take a great photo of your pet dog? They won’t sit still, will never look at the camera and are continually being attracted to everything but your camera. What if a dog could take a perfect selfie? Great idea, but paws and phones aren’t very compatible!
So how do you take a great dog portrait photo?
Well, there are some clever people out there who have come up with an amazing attachment for your mobile phone, It’s called the Pooch Selfie. Basically, it is an attachment for your mobile phone that holds you dogs favourite tennis ball enabling you to take a brilliant dog portrait photo, or perfect selfie with your dog!
They have started a kickstarter page to get this great gadget off the ground. Take a look here kickstarter.com/projects/poochselfie/pooch-selfie-the-best-way-to-capture-selfies-with .
You will get a brilliant dog portrait photo or a perfect selfie with your dog using this technique.
As an artist who is constantly asking people to send their best dog portrait photo, I couldn’t recommend this perfect selfie idea more! The main struggle taking a dog portrait photo is getting your dog to sit still and to look at the camera. If they think their favourite ball is about to be thrown for them to chase, then why wouldn’t they be staring at it intently! Unbeknown to them, they would also be looking directly at the camera, ready for the perfect selfie to be snapped.
Another great tip for taking a cracking pet portrait photo is to get low down close to the dogs height. It really does make them look more commanding and special. Sebastian the Dachshund is a great example of a small dog, looking super confident, and almost regal when the camera is lower than him.
If you don’t happen to get yourself an awesome Pooch Selfie for a perfect dog selfie straight away, I would recommend in the short term holding your dogs favourite play thing, or even some food very close to the camera. This, I believe will work almost as well.
